On October 13, PlayStation VR launched in the United States and Canada with more than 30 games available on day one. More than 40 PlayStation 4 owners can get on the VR wagon Sony is clearly driving. 

Those who missed out on a pre-order can get the PS VR core units at major retailers. Additionally, PS VR owners can download both the demo disc and The PlayRoom VR game for free at the PlayStation Store.

Each PS VR unit, whether the launch bundle or core product, comes with a disc that contains demos of 18 games. The demo disc features standouts Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (Kitchen Teaser), DriveClub VR, EVE: Valkyrie, Job Simulator, Thumper, and PlayStation VR Worlds.

Allumette, Battlezone, Gnog, Harmonix Music VR, Headmaster, and Here They Lie released with the PS VR. Also on the list are Rez Infinite, RIGS Mechanized Combat League, Tumble VR, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, Wayward Sky, and Within.

Batman: Arkham VR is the star of the PlayStation VR launch lineup

After trying the demos, players can even click to purchase and download the full game. They can also buy others not found on the disc. Prices depend on the game, starting from $19.99 and rising to $59.99 in some cases.

Famous games like Rise of the Tomb Raider: Blood Ties and Star Wars Battlefront Rogue One: X-wing VR Mission does not have a price tag yet. Surprisingly, PS VR flagship game Batman: Arkham VR only costs $19.99.

Further titles include Waddle Home, Invasion, Kismet, EVE: Gunjack, Super Stardust Ultra VR, The Assembly, and Hustle Kings VR. The rest of the launch lineup features Harmonix Music VR, Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X, Loading Human, Sports Bar VR, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, and Superhypercube.

PlayStation VR price and compatible accessories

Available now, the PS VR core bundle includes the PS VR headset, headphones, and all cabling for $399.99.

Customers that pre-ordered PS4’s virtual reality system will get the PlayStation VR Launch Bundle for $499.99. Along with the PS VR headset and a copy of PlayStation VR Worlds, the bundle includes three accessories: one PlayStation Camera and two PlayStation Move.

These accessories plus two more are available for individual purchase. Required for the PS VR, the PlayStation Camera costs $59.99. However, Sony confirmed the 2014 model works just fine.

Next in line are the PlayStation Move controllers. They provide enhanced interaction with the virtual reality environment by mimicking real-world actions. Sony sells them in a two-pack for $100. Meanwhile, Amazon offers them individually for $35 each. Refurbished ones are even cheaper at $27.

Designed by Sony and Plantronics to compliment the PS VR, the Plantronics RIG 4VR gives more immersive 3D sound. The gaming headset costs $69.

Finally, the PS VR Aim will work with the upcoming PS VR shooting game Farpoint. Unveiled at Sony’s E3 2016 press conference, the company has not disclosed a release date or price tag for the controller.
