American Horror Story star Sarah Paulson confirmed her comeback as part of the sixth season’s cast on Tuesday at the Television Critics Associations’ summer press. Paulson became the fourth artist to confirm being part of the new season so far, alongside Angela Basset, Lady Gaga, and Cheyenne Jackson.
Angela Bassett also confirmed her return in February during an interview with Larry King. Lady Gaga announced her participation in March, and Cheyenne Jackson did in June.
During the interview, Paulson revealed that she would play an entirely different character to what she has played in previous seasons of AHS. Last season, Paulson played a character named Sally, a greedy woman that only cared about herself.
It is still unknown if actresses like Emma Roberts and Taissa Farmiga will appear on American Horror Story’s next season. So far, the producers of the show are working with a small cast. The next season will have a more strong story focused in the present, with some flashbacks involved.

American Horror Story producers created a total of six teasers for the following season. As Landgraf confirmed it, on a press release, only one of them is the real theme.
The trailers were released on YouTube and Facebook. The first spot is called “What’s Cooking” and it features a lonely farmhouse. During the trailer, there is a chainsaw sound very familiar to “Texas Chainsaw Massacre”.
The second spot features three people dressed as farmers. It is called Sunset Stroll. The third scene is called “Post Op” and shows a man getting his head stapled. The fourth features a baby crib with a deadly mobile, and it is called “Lullaby.”
The following spot is known as the Descent, and it shows the fear of running down the stair into something unknown. The last spot is called Milli Crossing, and it features millipedes on a stylish video.
Landgraf said in the interview that the network wanted to do something different and to keep the mystery on the new season. FX is trying to rekindle the interest in fans after the previous season finale was the lowest rated for the show.
Landgraf also commented that the show has been working with two different storylines at the same time, past and present stories are connected through. American Horror Story will be aired a whole month earlier than expected. The first episode will premiere on September 14, 2016.
