The Apple Store unveiled its official one-day shopping event: iPhones, Macbooks, and wearables have a discount this Black Friday. As the name suggests, the promotion is only available today, and it gives away tons of gift cards with every purchase.
Apple has not released a significant number of deals for its products in other big chain retailers such as Walmart, BestBuy or Amazon.
The current offer is valid in physical Apple Stores, on their website, and even on phone purchases made by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE. Again, it will only be available today, on Friday, which gives Apple enthusiasts a very limited shopping window.
What is Apple offering its customers on Black Friday?
Apple is offering a $50 gift card for the acquisition of SIM-free iPhones, specifically the iPhone SE, which starts at $399, the 6S ($549), and the 6S Plus ($649).
They did not include a discount for their latest flagship iPhone 7, but Walmart is currently offering a similar deal for the 7 or 7 Plus along with attractive payment plan options. There are also attractive discounts with perks at BestBuy and other retailers for iPads and Macbooks.
Purchasing an iPad will get the buyer a $100 gift card, which seems like a better deal, given iPads have similar prices. Selected models are the iPad Pro ($599), the Air 2 ($399), and the iPad Mini 4 ($399).
The Apple Watch and Apple TV both come with a $25 gift card. This amount might discourage users, especially in the smartwatch department, because it does not represent a sizeable difference compared to price. The selected 32GB Apple TV device sells for $149.
All the Series 1 watches include the gift card. The ones with Silver and Gold Aluminum case and Sports Band sell for $269, and the larger model with a Cocoa Sports Band for $269. Other color choices, including Rose Gold and Space Gray, also take part in this deal.
How much is an Apple computer for this year’s Black Friday?
An Apple computer will get the user a $150 gift card, the highest available. It starts with the $1299 Macbook model, with 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, and 1.1 GHz Intel m3 processor. The featured i5 Intel Core Macbook Pro, selling for the same price, has 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
The 15″ selected variant of the Macbook Pro comes with twice the RAM memory, twice the internal storage, and an i7 Intel Core processor. Next is the cheaper Macbook Air ($999) which has the same specs as the 15″ Macbook but with a less powerful i5 Intel processor.
For desktop options, selected products include the i5 Intel Core iMac with 8GB of RAM and a 1TB hard drive for $1099. Also, the powerful, portable, and pricey Mac Pro. The Apple CPU sports a 3.7GHz Quad-core Intel Xeon E5 processor, 12GB RAM, Dual AMD FirePro D300 capability with 2GB VRAM, and 256GB flash storage and sells for $2999.
