NFL fans will stay tuned through PlayStation. The developers behind Sony’s console launched the NFL Network via the PlayStation Vue (PS Vue) streaming service.
Subscribers will have access to a 24/7 coverage from the field, league offices, and team headquarters. Also, PS Vue is offering an NFL RedZone add-on, this channel broadcasts the best touchdowns and highlights of the season.
It also provides customers with technical football analysis and commentary, as well as critical plays live and in HD.
PS Vue packages, channels, and prices
Dwayne Benefield, Vice President and Head of PS Vue, announced the news on PlayStation’s official blog yesterday, August 25th.
PlayStation Vue is an internet television service, and Sony launched it across the U.S in March 2014.
PS Vue currently offers two types of plans. The Core plan -$34.99 monthly- provides over 70 channels, including local and regional sports networks as well as live cable TV and movies. The Elite plan -$44.99 monthly- comes with 100 + channels.
Dwayne Benefield first announced the arrival of NFL Network and NFL Redzone a month ago, yet, numerous users on the comment section of PlayStation’s blog were surprised by the launching of these channels ahead of the football season.
How much does the NFL RedZone add-on cost?
However, subscribers from both the Core and Elite plans will have to pay an extra $39.99 for the NFL RedZone add-on. That is a one-time-only transaction, and it covers the whole season.
Also, Mr. Benefield stated customers would soon be able to watch NFL Network through NFL.com, the NFL app available on TV-connected devices, and via NFL Mobile, with no extra costs.
NFL RedZone will begin streaming on PS Vue every Sunday starting September 11th of the present year.

PS VUE vs Sling TV vs Microsoft
With this new offer, Sony has gained some advantage over competitors like Sling TV, a similar Internet television service that provides ESPN on its packages, but doesn’t have subscriptions to the NFL Network or NFL Redzone at the moment.
However, Microsoft has been featuring these channels on the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 for a while, as the tech giant made a deal with the NFL in 2013.
PS Vue is available for streaming through PlayStation consoles, Google Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, and mobile devices running on both Android and iOS.
