U.S. Calif. – Capcom is holding a Street Fighter V 2016 tournament with the current top 32 players across the globe playing on PlayStation 4 consoles.

The world champion of the Capcom Cup 2016 will earn $120,000 plus a DLC bonus, while the second and third place will earn $60,000 and $25,000 respectively.

The Tournament features a double elimination bracket with best of five matches. Capcom selected the players from Capcom Pro Tour Global Leaderboard.

The cup started on December 2 with a top 32 to 8 round. It took place at ESports Arena in Santa Ana, California.

The December 3 finals at Anaheim Convention Center are part of the PlayStation Experience. They will stream live at 9 PM ET / 6 PM PT on twitch.tv./capcomfighters.

Capcom Cup 2016 Day Two, December 3

The event starts at 6 PM, social hour, while the tournament rolls from 6:30 to 9:30. Fans can purchase a PlayStation Experience ticket at the PlayStation website to get access to the Day Two of the Capcom floor.

With the tickets, fans will not only see the tournament live, but they can also play Street Fighter V with other attendees on hundreds of PlayStation 4 and high-resolution TVs inside the convention.

The current leaders of the tournament are Korean “Infiltration,” Japanese Tokido, and American Justin Wong.

Aside from Japan, South Korea, and the U.S., there are players from Brazil, China, the U.K, Singapore, France, Dominican Republic, Norway, and Taiwan.

Street Fighter V is the sixth entry in the series and the first one to become a professional eSport. It took off in February 2016 for PS4, Windows PC, and Linux, but it boasts a small community with a little over 1.5 million copies sold.

The PlayStation Experience

The PlayStation Experience 2016 in Anaheim Convention Center, Southern California, will roll between December 3 and December 4.

The convention joins thousands of fans across the world for inspiring presentations, demos, trailers, tournaments, and showcases. Plus, there will be rooms with the PS4 Pro on 4K TVs and dozens of PlayStation VR demos.

The convention goes on Saturday from 10 AM to 10 PM and Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM. Tickets are $45 for Saturday, $40 for Sunday, or $75 for both days. The event is open to people over 18 years old, with no exceptions.

Some of the games available at Anaheim’s PlayStation Experience will be Ace Combat 7, For Honor, Gran Turismo Sport, Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last Guardian, Yakuza 0, Far Point, Watch Dogs 2, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, and much more.

PlayStation VR consoles will have games like Batman: Arkham VR, RIGS Mechanized Combat League, EVE Valkyrie, or Here they Lie.
