BlizzCon 2016 will promote in-game goodies for several of Blizzard Entertainment’s major franchises like Overwatch, Diablo, Warcraft, and many others. Blizzard’s annual video game convention takes place on Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.
Attendees will experience the latest versions of Blizzard’s games, the eSports Global Finals as well as panels featuring the developers and artists. Blizzard also announced a host of community contests and merchandise.
The 10th BlizzCon will also serve to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Blizzard Entertainment. Founded in 1991, the American video game developer and publisher launched its first breakthrough smash hit Warcraft: Orcs & Humans in 1994.
Blizzard followed with several other successful titles like the sequels to Warcraft, the Diablo series, the StarCraft series, and the hugely popular MMORPG World of Warcraft.
In-game goodies and Global Finals at BlizzCon 2016
The digital goodies offered at BlizzCon 2016 will be a BlizzCon-themed Bastion skin for Overwatch, a Murloc humanoid for Horde and Alliance players in World of Warcraft, and a 20th Anniversary Diablo pet for Diablo III.
The Diablo pet is only for the PC and Mac versions, while the Bastion is redeemable on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Console players have to link their Battle.net account with their PSN or Xbox Live account to claim the Bastion.
BlizzCon attendees and Virtual Ticket buyers will get a Nexus Tiger Mount for Heroes of the Storm, a Welcome Inn Card Back for Hearthstone, and mystery goodies for Starcraft II. Those who attend the event will also receive a BlizzCon beer stein and an inflatable Reinhardt hammer, among other things.
In addition to the all these goodies, the event will host the eSports Global Finals for Starcraft II, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, World of Warcraft, and Overwatch.
How much will it cost to attend or watch BlizzCon 2016?
Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime revealed the details for BlizzCon 2016 back in April. Fans had to purchase tickets on either April 20 or April 23 to attend the convention. The tickets had a cost of $200 each.
For those who didn’t want to pay the $200, they can buy the $40 BlizzCon Virtual Ticket to watch the event. To get the goodies, they have to redeem the accompanying Digital Bonuses code.
In every BlizzCon’s closing night, except the 2007 and 2008 editions, there has been concerts from famous artists, including The Offspring, Tenacious D, Foo Fighters, Ozzy Osbourne, Blink-182, Metallica, and Linkin Park last year. However, no band has been announced for BlizzCon 2016 yet.
