Samsung Electronics unveiled earlier this month the Galaxy Studio in the Olympic Park for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The company is a Worldwide Olympic Partner in the Wireless Communications Equipment category which means since the opening, fans and athletes had the chance to visit the space and experience Samsung’s latest wireless communications products and immersive technology.

The visitors had the opportunity to try out Samsung VR Gear, the virtual reality headset of Samsung, and also the Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Games Limited Edition. There was a free space for everyone to visit, so athletes had the chance to meet their fans.

Among the athletes that visited the Olympic Park to try the Samsung devices were U.S. track and field athlete Brenda Martinez, Lesotho marathon runner Tsepo Mathibelle and Ireland gymnast Kieran Behan.

Samsung presented alongside the International Olympic Committee (IOC) 12,500 Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Games Limited Edition smartphones to the Olympic Games competitors.

One of the most visited rooms were the Social Galaxy room. Inside the chamber, the athletes watched their past Instagram moments in 360 degrees.

“I’M MOST EXCITED ABOUT MY GALAXY S7 EDGE OLYMPIC GAMES LIMITED EDITION – IT’S SUCH A COOL COMMEMORATIVE PHONE FROM SAMSUNG,” said Martinez during her visit.

Mathibelle had the opportunity to experience simulated Olympic kayaking through 4D motion virtual reality using the Samsung Gear VR and a Galaxy smartphone.

Martinez also experimented the 4D virtual reality technology but instead of the kayaking, she immersed in a high-speed roller coaster.

The package includes a Rio 2016 pin board, 22 Olympic Games sport-themed pins, and 8 Rio de Janeiro themed pins.

Besides the trip to Tokyo, some of the prizes for gathering all the pins were a Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Games Limited Edition smartphone, Gear IconX earbuds and a couple of other mobile accessories.
