New leaks about the upcoming LeEco Le 2S smartphone have been circulating across tech portals. The famous cross-platform/API 3D graphics tester, GFXBench, revealed the possible specs for the device on its official website last week.

Although the benchmark has erased any information of the phone recently, some specialized sites managed to screen capture the specs sheet of the Le 2S. The new addition of the Le series was rumored to be the first Android smartphone that features 8GB of RAM, yet, this might not be the case, as the memory size listed on GFXBench is 4GB.

The Le 2S would be the seventh high-end mobile from Chinese-Based Leshi Internet Information & Technology -known as LeEco and formerly LeTv-  after delivering the Le 1 and Le 2 series,  with both of them featuring Le Pro and Le Max versions.

The company gained notoriety for offering content, devices, and applications on a web platform called “Le Ecosystem”, and remains as one of the largest online video companies in China. LeEco’s latest model, the Le Max 2, came with a 32GB to 64GB of storage space and 4GB of memory, as well as an improved 64/128 GB and 6GB RAM version.

Some of the Le 2S features would include fingerprint scanners

The alleged specs sheet of the Le 2S -referred as X720- listed a 5.5 -inch touch screen display with 1080 x 1920 inches. It could also come with at least five finger gesture support, a native storage of 32GB, and 4GB of RAM memory.

The phone would run on Android Marshmellow 6.0.1 under a Qualcomm SnapDragon 820 chipset that includes a quad-core CPU and the Adreno 530 GPU.

GFXbench listed rose gold, silver, and gray as the possible color options for the Le 2S

The phone could also come with a 16MP camera on its back, though a 16MP dual-camera addition is possible.

A front 8MP shooter would handle video chats, and the device relies on CDLA technology that allows earphones to plug into a Type-C USB port, instead or the standard 3.5mm audio output. The Le 2S supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0, according to the leak.

Users were expecting the first 8GB RAM phone, but they might be disappointed

This hardware is significantly different from previous reports of the Le 2S. Weibo, a Chinese social network company, revealed an alleged first look at the smartphone on Friday, August 12th.

The images caused some speculation among technology sites regarding the device’s features, with some experts expecting the inclusion of a Snapdragon 821 chipset and 8GB of RAM, the first of its kind. If the leaks are proven accurate, then the LeEco Le 2S would be a smaller version of the Le Max 2, instead of an improved device.

LeEco hasn’t made official announcements about its new product. However, the company could unveil the phone at the first week of September, as The China Compulsory Certification has given its approval to the Le 2S,  according to Phone Arena.
