Game of Thrones’ release postponed & its chapters shortened

It appears GoT fans will have to wait even more than usual to get the first taste of Game of Thrones' Season 7. The delay was caused by the producers' decision to wait until the actual winter to start filming the next season. Image Credit: IGN

HBO President Casey Bloys announced the very successful Game of Thrones series would start shooting season 7 later this summer. The delay in production will postpone its release until late next year.

Usually, the series airs in April, but fans will have to wait for more than usual to know how long Cersei will seat on the Iron Throne. Moreover, the producers of the show also announced next season would be the shortest one so far. It will only have seven episodes, and GoT fans are wondering what they did wrong to deserve such ill treatment.

There is a more logical explanation, though. As every Game of Thrones fan knows, Lord Eddard was right, and winter finally got to Westeros. Many people were skeptical after the trial by combat episode, and they were completely sure there was no way the series could do better than that. But season 6 was an excellent representation of 2016, and everything people feared ended up happening. Still, there’s much left to be seen from all the characters that one way or another, have stole fans’ love or contempt.

However, the epic history George R.R. Martin wrote is being taken to the silver screen by a cast of really talented actors, following the directions of gifted people. Considering most of the beautiful landscapes portrayed in the HBO original series is real and filmed in various locations, producers decided to wait until more suitable conditions.

After all, for the series to depict winter the weather must be as cold and cloudy as possible. That is why the production will start later this year. Even though it might be cheaper, filming under such condition is going to bring a whole new pack of problems. Hopefully, everything is going to be great, and the show’s producers will put everything the seventh season of the show deserves in only seven episodes.

Game of Thrones will give other HBO shows a fighting chance at the Emmy Awards 2017

The fact that the show is going to air later than usual also rules it out of the Emmy competition next year. According to the requirements, for a show to be considered by the committee, it has to run on June 1 and the last day of May. But apparently, production thinks delivering a spectacular season 7 is more important than breaking another record at the Emmys. The series won Best Drama last year, and received 23 nominations this year, so it would be safe to say GoT already left its mark there.

The series won Best Drama last year, and received 23 nominations this year, so it would be safe to say GOT already left its mark there. It is almost unforgivable to enter the realm of speculation, but the announcement generates too many questions. For instance, a huge lot was left hanging for the next season including a couple of possible fights. The battle of the bastards was incredible, but since the fight scene took almost all the chapter, it would be hard to believe a similar display will be used due to the episode’s reduction.

For instance, many plots were left hanging for the next season, including a couple of possible fights between the main characters. The battle of the bastards was incredible, but since the fight scene took almost all the chapter, it would be hard to believe a similar display will be used due to the episode’s reduction.

It would be a real shame considering Daenerys is on her way to Westeros with three huge dragons. There is also the fear that the producers are forced to leave out important things due to the chapter shortage. Lastly, and this is a real wild guess, the fact that the season number seven is going to have seven episodes is a little suspicious.

It would be crazy to expect this from almost any other show, but after Hodor’s heartbreaking backstory, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to think the “murderous” writer is cooking something special for the viewers.
