Blizzard Entertainment’s BlizzCon will take place today and tomorrow at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. This years’ BlizzCon is the 10th one (a significant milestone), and also marks Blizzard’s 25th anniversary.
This BlizzCon could finally hold some answers to speculations about the reveal of the fourth installment of the popular ‘Diablo,’ along with some other news. The official unveiling of Sombra for the ‘Overwatch‘ title is also one of the most talked-about events.
The convention is currently at its Opening Ceremony on the Main Stage of Hall D until 12 p.m. PDT, according to their official schedule.
Blizzard’s most rumored reveals
Players regard World of Warcraft as the most recognizable Blizzard release, initially launched in NovemberĀ 2004. The massive-multiplayer-online game has seen many redesigns and patches over the last few years, but the company is seemingly moving on from it.
Besides about information regarding the next Legion patch for WoW, there have not been any previous announcements that point to significant changes in this game. The possibility of a ‘Warcraft 4’ coming out is a long shot, but not entirely impossible.
The space spin-off of the game mentioned above, StarCraft, has not seen any further developments as well, since the release of its latest expansion in 2015 for StarCraft II.
Fans expect the release of ‘Diablo 4’ to be the convention’s biggest highlight
‘Diablo’ first came out in 1996 and quickly became one of Blizzard’s best-selling titles. The role-playing battle game has seen two sequels, ‘Diablo 2’ in 2000, and ‘Diablo 3’ in 2012.
Fan rumors have pointed out to three possible updates coming out at BlizzCon. The first one is simply a new ‘Diablo 3’ expansion, which would already be greatly appreciated by them. The second is an HD remake of the first two installments of the game.
However, there has been a lot of speculation regarding a whole new release of the title, ‘Diablo 4.’ Blizzard’s lead developer, David Brevik, recently discouraged fans by tweeting that he was not currently working on Diablo, but rumors keep surfacing nonetheless.
Leaked images of the ‘Necromancer,’ a favorite character, prove that something might be coming to BlizzCon, but what exactly remains a complete mystery.
Sombra’s long-awaited coming to ‘Overwatch.’
The team multiplayer first-person-shooter game ‘Overwatch’ first came out last May for PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4. Images of a new character for the title, along with a new story arc, have leaked two different times already.
The character, whose name is Sombra, will most likely appear on video and fans will probably be able to play her in theĀ at the convention. A new map for Overwatch, and the Overwatch Pro League mode might also come with her unveiling.
