Square Enix launched ‘Final Fantasy XV’ just over a week ago, and the gaming community’s reception has been more than overwhelming.

The 15th installment of the game sold over five million copies upon its launch, and people have welcomed the new features coming to the game both in gameplay and story.

‘Final Fantasy XV’ was under development for over ten years since its original announcement back in 2005, but fans of the game mostly agree the wait was worth it.

Square Enix’s latest title not only offers a new take on an old saga, but it has also promised to deliver much more very soon.

‘Final Fantasy XV’ nailed it with an open world map

The primary reason fans are excited about this new ‘Final Fantasy’ is the game finally does away with decades of turn-based battle tradition for a more organic combat style.

‘Final Fantasy XV’ introduces real-time fighting mechanics which are very ‘hack-and-slash’ in nature compared to the strategic battles of old ‘Final Fantasy’ titles.

Despite some frame rate hiccups, the style of the new game pairs nicely with the ever-frantic fights using large weapons and powerful spells, characteristic of the ‘Final Fantasy’ lore.

Moreover, this is the second game of the series that provides an open world for players to explore as they please, letting them engage in quests and just have fun before tackling the main storyline.

The enhanced visuals of the game help considerably to make ‘Final Fantasy XV’ experience a superb one, with the vast new map presenting itself in beautifully rendered graphics.

Square Enix announced new free content

If all of the above was not enough, the director of ‘Final Fantasy XV,’ Hajime Tabata announced on Wednesday the game’s story was far from over, as the studio plans on releasing not only technical updates but also plot patches.

“Our early plans are to enrich certain aspects of the game, adding gameplay enhancements for Chapter 13, buffing ring magic, etc. We’ll have the specifics of what and when for you at a later date,” said Tabata.

Further updates to the game will bring customizable characters, the option to play with some currently non-playable characters, and new chapters or expansions dedicated to exploring the stories of the ‘Final Fantasy XV’ characters in depth.

Upcoming DLC for the latest ‘Final Fantasy’ title will include Gladiolus, Ignis, and Prompto episodes, as well as a Holiday Pack, a Booster Pack, and an Expansion Pack titled ‘Comrades.’

Fans of the franchise have a lot to be hyped about, so stay tuned for more updates on ‘Final Fantasy XV’ coming soon.
