Verizon has updated its “Advanced Devices Software Updates” list, showing that the LG G4, G3, and HTC One M9 are all scheduled to receive updates to the Android version 6.0 Marshmallow. As of now, they are yet to update the official pages, so we are not aware of the official changes that we can expect from the update.
We guess that all the updates are going to be to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Well, at least for the G4 and One M9, the updates should be Marshmallow.
We can attest to this fact because of a couple of reasons. First being the fact that HTC’s Mo Versi took to Twitter at the end of last week to announce that the Marshmallow update for the One M9 on Big Red had received “approval” and would begin on February 16, so it can’t get more obvious than that.
On the other hand, LG has rolled out Marshmallow updates to almost every single carrier variant of the G4, outside of Verizon’s, so the device is the last one that should get the Marshmallow update.

Talking of the LG G3, the update could be anything from a security update to a full blown one. With that said, a handful of Verizon LG G3 owners did receive the update to Marshmallow back in January, so we know that Verizon is, at least, testing it and may be close to pushing it out.
According to latest updates, the G4 will jump to software version VS98624C and the One M9 to 3.37.605.7. The G3 will jump to VS98546A, which we think is Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The update will consist of all the features that are there on an Android Marshmallow operating system. However, like before, there will be a custom UI called LG UX that will come with the device. So, Verizon users, get ready for the updates.
