The robotic first-person-shooter ‘Titanfall 2‘ will be released a week from now on October 28th and news of its pending one-day update have already surfaced. The game is the second installment in a series developed by California-based Respawn Entertainment.

Titanfall 2 is already available for pre-order starting at $59.99 for the Standard version and $79.99 for the Deluxe bundle. It can be pre-ordered for the Xbox or PlayStation.

Respawn co-founder and CEO Vince Zampella (@VinceZampella) tweeted news of its day-one update yesterday, claiming that it would only take up 88MB of storage space, a remarkably low figure for these types of downloads.

Day-one updates (or patches) are upgrades developed and released for a given title after the game itself comes out. They usually work to cover certain bugs that developers were unable to solve before the videogame’s deadline or add a large number of new features.

A huge list of new features for the widely expected title

The official Titanfall 2 blog made list of 10 reasons that make this game stand out both from its predecessor and other first-person-shooters and popular mecha games currently available.

All the maps will be available upon purchase with no need for extra charges later down the road, and this means that every buyer gets to go multiplayer with their friends at the same level no matter where they got the game.

Titanfall 2 will introduce a ‘grappling hook’ function with will aid with mobility and the opportunity for players to slide with their characters, which will translate into more interesting combats.

The game will feature a new cast of characters along with six new Titans for multiplayer campaigns, Ronin, Ion, Legion, NorthStar, Tone, and Scorch. Purchase of the game’s Deluxe Edition grants the player several in-game perks for each Titan.

Single Player Mode on Titanfall 2

The original story arc for Titanfall started at The Frontier, a vastly unexplored region of outer space in which colonies of human beings struggled for survival. A war between the Frontier Militia (consisting or gigantic robots called Titans and their human Pilots) and the invading forces of the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation set the plot into motion.

Titanfall 2 will contain a Single Player Mode to tell the individual story of Jack Cooper, a militia soldier who aspires to become a Pilot. While fighting in the Titan Wars, he becomes trapped behind enemy lines and meets the Titan BT-7274, which will help him escape.

The story mode will take both characters through an extensive roster of missions in which they will have to face many enemies and bosses. The variant gameplay will require players to control both Pilots and Titans to fight other Pilots and other Titans.
