The Korean tech company LG Electornics Inc. (NASDAQ: withLGEAF) will soon release its new flagship smartphone, LG V20, while rumors continue to swirl around the device. However, the specs sounded like a suspicious downgrade from the previous LG V10 at the beginning, but new data provided by Phones Spot indicates the handset is going directly compete with Samsung and Apple’s smartphones.
The phone first leaked on August 1 in South Korea. The rumor said the LG V20 would have a 5.5-inch Full HD display, compared to the 5.7-inch Quad High Definition, the new standard for high-end monitors that comes with a 2560 X 1440 display. The reduction of the screen size is going to be compensated with a powerful processor and a lot of Ram memory.
Five months ago, the company launched the LG5 modular handset, and it has position itself among the top 5 most sold phones in the world.

The LG V20 could feature the best camera and display in the market
Phones Spot shared info that could turn the upcoming LG device into a fearful competitor of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and Apple’s soon-to-launch iPhone 7.
V 20 would come with a 5.7-inch QHD display, 21MP primary camera, 8MP front camera, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core processor and 4 GB or memory ram. The device will run on the new Android Nougat OS out of the box.
It is also rumored the phone will come with a secondary display similar to the one the V10 had, a 2.1-inch 160X140 always-on display above the main screen. V20 won’t be a modular phone, despite the push LG made on the G5’s modular pieces.
The LG 5 is the third most sold smartphone in the US
The debut of the LG V20 will follow the steps of Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd (NASDAQ: SSNFL) with the upcoming Galaxy Note 7, their new flagship phablet, as well as the new Galaxy 7. Both with Samsung’s top-end mobile technology.
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is also gearing up for the new iPhone, which will launch in December and will keep an upgrade of the existing 6S model, with the same design and features, but will ditch the headphone jack and change the position of the antenna.

If the rumors are right, LG V20 would be a tough competitor with its superior cameras and high definition display. However, it’s going to take a lot more than that to compete against the two giants fighting at the top, and Huawei which is becoming a powerhouse on its own.
LG announced its new flagship is coming on September 6, 2016.
