San Francisco, US – Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) has again risen and is shining with a new tab for selected iOS and Android users in the US.  The social network is experimenting with a new “Featured News” tab which will keep users involved. The new tab is rightly placed at the middle of the app’s navigation bar and at a click shows up a list of latest headlines. Tapping on one of the headline takes up to a screen with image, story and tweets about the same.

According to a Twitter spokesperson, we’re experimenting with a news experience on iOS and Android as we continue to explore new ways to surface the best content to users.”

Twitter’s feed is definitely a pronounced tool to accumulate with current headlines, but hard to discover the content.  The ‘News’ tab will support the user to distinguish easily. Beside news tab, Twitter is also coming up with ‘Project Lightning’ feed which will help user to follow events and people. By featuring these new tabs and feed, Twitter is targeting a wider audience. Earlier, Twitter had come up with ‘Discover’ tab where users needed to click the search bar. The function of this tab was similar; but more for a single purpose.

However, the experimental feature is live for both iOS and Android users in Japan and do not have access to all. Also, there is no word from Twitter as when and where this feature will be rolled out to others. If you still want to have a look, you can sign up the best version from here. As of now the new tab is being tested powerfully and hope it will sprout on a formal launch.

Additionally, with the new update Twitter has also added six Indian languages namely, Hindi, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil and Bengali. And the language can be changed from the drop down menu in ‘Settings’.
