The latest edition of the TwitchCon mass conference will arrive in San Diego by the end of this month. The largest gaming community platform will host the event at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California from September 30 to October 2.
Nearly two million broadcasters use Twitch.com to stream and upload their videos and interact with a community of over a 100 million members. The Twitch family has grown large enough to require an event the size of TwitchCon to promote its platform and gather all of those who love and use it regularly.
The three-day event will feature a lot of different sessions and special events, with many of the community’s favorite streamers hanging around the San Diego Convention Center as well.
TwitchCon 2016: Entry and agenda
Attendees to TwitchCon 2016 have three options to get into the event: a Community Badge, a Partner Badge, or an Industry Badge. Different badges grant access to different events, with the Community Badge being for the general public while the Partner and Industry Badges are for official streamers and companies.
In typical conference fashion, the TwitchCon 2016 is scheduled to start on Friday, but there is a special event on the previous day for those eager to get a taste of the weekend. Amazon Game Studios will host an exclusive Unboxing Event and Afterparty at six p.m. on Thursday, with registration open from 12 to 6.
Aside from that, all three days of TwitchCon at San Diego are full of different events all day long, with registration starting at eight a.m. and the Convention Center booting up between 10 and 11 a.m.
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will consist mostly of Panel sessions on different topics both about the video game industry and issues pertaining Twitch as a platform. Several of them are dedicated to aspiring streamers and how to improve their videos and overall experience on Twitch.
There will also be a number of Meet and Greet events with fan favorites and exhibitions from famous streamers every day. Many of these sessions will be held simultaneously, but if someone cannot attend one event they would like to catch with their favorite broadcaster, they can always try to meet them at the Convention Center in the different special zones of TwitchCon 2016.
TwitchCon 2016: Special Zones and Events
The video game conference will have a Gaming Arena with over a hundred gaming setups for players to face each other for fun or in exhibition matches. Who knows? They could even find themselves against some Twitch personalities.
There is also the Education Row, a zone dedicated to newcomers to Twitch who wish to make it on the world’s leading gaming video platform. Charity Plaza, on the other hand, is focused on fundraising for charity causes and is promoted by top community streamers.
The Indie District, Streamer Zone, Streamer Alley, Free Play Square, Creative Corner, Music Garden, and LoL Viewing Lounge all take part in the three-day experience of TwitchCon 2016.
Tickets are available at TwitchCon 2016 official site. Those who wish to attend TwitchCon: The Party on Saturday featuring T-Pain, Darude, and a “Mystery Headliner” can add an entry ticket to their conference pass for an extra fee.
