The 2016 Steam Winter Sale is set to begin today, December 22nd and will last up to January 1st. The official dates were confirmed weeks ago through NeoGAF, the large gaming forum.
During this year’s Steam sale events, gamers will have the possibility to acquire the games of their preference at discount prices. So, if you are a gamer looking for a bargain, this is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for all year.
It’s still uncertain what the discounts are going to offer, as well as which games will be on sale. However, it is known that Steam has modified the way the sales work with its Holiday deals.
Games that were offered at discount prices on the very traditional Black Friday sale might not have the same reduction in price, or may not be discounted at all during the Steam winter sale. On the other hand, you might be able to find games that were not even reduced in price on the last sales that Steam offered, with a beautiful and unexpected cost.
Another thing that the winter sale includes is Valve’s invitation to vote for the very popular Steam awards, which winners will be announced on new year’s eve.
Another important aspect of this winter sale in that Valve has changed the way the deal works. The company has left Daily and Flash sales aside. So, that means if you buy a discounted game, you don’t need to be afraid of the fact the game could be reduced in price later.
How to buy
Indian gamers have numerous possibilities. They can use credit cards, net banking, debit cards, digital wallets and even cash on delivery.
You also need to take special care with non-Indian accounts, as it is possible to buy games with these accounts, sometimes there are region-locked and run-time tight games. This means that you can only purchase these games if you are in India.
