2018 has proven to be a competitive year for leading gaming consoles, and one of the main battlegrounds for these companies is the exclusivity of anticipated titles. Sony‘s PS4 has been trying for a while now to get the upper hand, and this year´s PS4 line up of releases has been filled with game changers in the industry.
Rick and Morty Virtual Rick-ality
The PS4 has been focusing on the development of their virtual reality headset and its games, one of the most anticipated titles ‘Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality, a game that promised ¨an entire Rick and Morty experience will be coming on April 10th priced at $29 in digital or physical versions or a $49 bundle that includes a Funko vinyl figure with a fully armed Rick.
Dragon Ball FighterZ
Dragon Ball FighterZ is a game changer for the Dragon Ball game series putting aside 3D arena fighters, this title will be coming in 2018 to put up 3v3 battles on an arcade-like 2D model with screen-filling moves so every graphics animated frame is completely appreciated, plus for this game the animation was a high parameter and the plane 2D was made to resemble battles form the original animated series.
God of War
Sony´s powerhouse new title God Of War is according to director Cory Barlog this title could be one of the finest in the entire series, its premise takes place with Kratos peaceful retirement with his son Atreus after the destruction of the Olympian Gods, but once the north gods find out about Kratos´s part on the annihilation they plot to kill him.
This presents a drastic departure from the traditional game style, both plot-wise and within the mechanics of the game, a particularly different tone on the game is the feature elder Kratos who depicts a more deep and personal narrative in the series new direction.
Kingdom Hearts III
After a 13-year gap between Kingdom Hearts II and III, the new title crossover will deliver a climactic conclusion to the war between light and darkness. The game focusses on the search of Donald, Goofy and Sora for the seven guardians of light, while Mickey and Roku are searching for previous Key Blade wielders, this may provide an interesting background on the world of Kingdom Hearts.
Trouble begins with Master Xehanort seeking to spark war against the ‘tyranny of light´, and so the player will be able to battle in new Disney scenarios like, Big Hero 6, Toy Story, and Tangled as a follow up to the events that occurred in Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.
