The Chinese tech giant, OnePlus finally unveiled the much awaited OnePlus 2 on July 27th after months of speculations. Now, OnePlus is all set and is planning to release OnePlus 2 on August 11th across 11 regions of the US, China, Canada, India and European Union. Later, during the last quarter of the year, it will be rolled out in Southeast Asia. The company has confirmed that the new OnePlus 2, 16GB and 64GB, will cost $329 and $389, respectively.
Founded in December 2013, the Chinese technology company OnePlus has previously unveiled OnePlus One in April 2014 and launched in July 2014. OnePlus One was globally successful. Now, the company has unveiled OnePlus 2 and has registered more than 1 million OnePlus 2 invites within 72 hours of the unveiling. However, its predecessor OnePlus One took almost a year to reach 1.5 million units in sales. Thus, OnePlus and the smartphone technology market are expecting a lot from the newly launched OnePlus 2.
Specifications of OnePlus 2
The new OnePlus 2 flaunts aluminium-magnesium alloy frame around its edges along with pure steel accents for home and camera module. OnePlus 2 sports a 5.5-inch full HD LTPS LCD capacitive touchscreen measuring 151.8×74.9×9.9 mm with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution having 401 ppi pixel density. The smartphone will be available in two variants; one is having 16 GB internal memory and 3 GB RAM while the other one is having 64 GB internal memory and 4 GB RAM. However, there is a drawback when it comes to external storage as the smartphone doesn’t have a MicroSD card slot.
OnePlus 2 houses 13 MP rear camera with 4128 x 3096 pixels resolution and 5 MP front snapper. The main camera is supported with dual-LED flash and laser autofocus. The smartphone is backed by non-removable Li-Po 3300 mAh battery and will come with four StyleSwap Cover options including Black Apricot, Bamboo, Kevlar and Rosewood.
OnePlus 2 is considered to be the first flagship smartphone to boast latest Type C USB connector. The user doesn’t have to worry about the orientation of the port while plugging as it works in reverse as well. OnePlus 2 will come with Dual-SIM slots and has slider Alert Button on its left side; acting as a notification access switcher with options like none, priority and all.
