A few days back, we posted story regarding leaked images of the possible controller for Nintendo’s much-anticipated gadget, codenamed “NX.” We were quite skeptical of the authenticity of the image, as it was quite blurry and also the fact that the first person who had posted the images claimed to be a game developer, but was not able to provide proof that he or she had access to a Nintendo NX development kit.
Today, more leaked images for the controller have made it to the internet, however, this time, the images are shot in a decent quality and do seem to showcase a genuine piece of hardware.
According to the respective post on Reddit, where the images were first shared, “Only the upper ‘nubs’ of the sticks move. The bottom part is static (kind of like the circle pad, but it moves along the bottom ‘sphere’.”. The post also claims that the buttons on the controller feel like scroll wheels and the haptic feedback feels more like Apple’s “taptic” engine and not like typical rumble. The controller has a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom.
Furthermore, the images were posted on the forum by a user going by the handle of perkele37 and as we see in a lot of such cases, the user has not provided much information with regards to who they were or how they obtained these images. Even after you click on the link, you will be redirected to the NX post, which means that the handle is being used for posting for the first time.
It is true that, at the moment, we have no real proof as far as the authenticity of the images is concerned. Still, we think the intel at hand can be significantly close to what we can expect Nintendo to launch, as there is definitive resemblance between the leaked photos and Nintendo’s alleged patent document of the NX.
