At an event that took place in New Delhi, Microsoft has finally launched the Surface Pro 4. Priced at Rs 89,990, it looks like Microsoft intends to target high-end customers.
For the first 6 months, the device will be sold exclusively via Amazon India and the shipping for the device begins January 14. Microsoft Stores located at Noida, Gurgaon, Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai can be visited if you want to try out the device before you buy it.
In total, the Surface Pro 4 will be made available in India in three variants; the Surface Pro 4 with Core i5, 4GB of RAM and 128GB SSD priced at Rs 89,990, the Core i5, 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD variant at Rs 1,20,990 and Core i7, 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD at Rs 1,44,990. For the Surface Pen and the cover keyboard, you will have to further dish out Rs 5,990 and Rs 12,490 respectively. The cover is available in blue and black colours.
The company has also launched the 2013 variant of the Surface tablet, the Surface Pro 3, priced at Rs 73,990. Αn Intel Core i3 processor, along with 4GB RAM and a 128GB SSD have been embed underneath the hood of the device as well.
Specs wise, the device sports a 12.3-inch display with 2736 x 1824 pixels resolution and 267DPI pixel density. As for the processors that power the Surface Pro 4, the device runs on 6th generation Intel Core M, Core i5 or Core i7 processors and RAM options start from 4GB going up to 16GB. The SSD option goes from 128TB till 1TB.
According to a Microsoft spokesperson, the Surface Pro 4 can operate 30 percent faster than the Surface Pro 4 and 50 percent faster than the Apple MacBook. Overall, the value for money that this device provides is extremely good.
