Microsoft brought a rather fresh look to its desktop operating system with Windows 8. Unfortunately, the reception was not groundbreaking enough. Nevertheless, the just announced Windows 10 will be hitting our PCs soon and trust me, they are simply brilliant.
For obvious reasons, Skype will be shutting down its app for Windows 8 on July 7. Users on this platform will be transitioned to the classic desktop look. The company has probably figured out that there is no good reason to maintain an application that practically does the same thing with the original edition whatsoever. Needless to say that the maintenance of an app comes with expenses.
So long Windows 8 Skype, I guess.
