The LG V20 will release this month

South Korea, Seoul. – LG Electronics Inc. (NASDAQ: LGEAF) finally announced the launch of their upcoming flagship smartphone, the LG V20, the world’s first device to come with the all-new Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

V20 is the successor to last year’s V10, a phone that became popular because of its unique design, great camera, and advanced audio playback. V20 retained those features and introduced new exciting ones.

The phone will be rolling out by late September in South Korea, and other countries will follow the upcoming weeks. It will come in three colors: pink, gray and titan (dark gray). Prices will range by carrier and country, although the company hasn’t released price details just yet.

Unfortunately for LG, the V20 is the handset most people will ignore this month because of the iPhone 7 landslide that’s about to hit the store shelves.  That doesn’t mean the V20 isn’t worth to check out.

Display and specs

The phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with X12 LTE connectivity. It has 4GB RAM memory and 64GB storage which users can increase up to 2TB with microSD.

The screen is a 5.7-inch Quality HD IPS Quantum Display (2560X1440), with 513 pixels per seconds. It has a secondary display (160X1040/513ppi) installed that offers a smaller display above the main screen, where users can view notifications and alerts.

V20 has an 8MP main camera and a 5MP front camera with Auto Shot and Hybrid Auto Focus options. It has an easily replaceable battery 3200mAh with Quick Charge 3.0 to power up the smartphone four times faster.

The phone comes with a single USB Type-C port, a lightweight aluminum body with a silicon protective material in the front, and Al6013 metal on the back – a material found in bikes, airplanes, and sailboats. LG tested the phone and proved it can survive a four-feet drop.

LG designers focused on multimedia

LG V20 series is a premium line of smartphones that aims to provide quality video and audio experience. V20, in particular, wants to become the go-to phone for anyone with something to tell with crisp and clear audiovisual performance.

The smartphone will include new features including Steady Record 2.0, Hi-Fi Quad DAC, HD Audio Recorder and front and wide-angle lens cameras to deliver better performance. Steady Record 2.0 by Qualcomm Technologies offers electronic image stabilization to record sharper video footage while reducing shaky images.

The front/rear wide-angle lens capture photos with an ample background of 120 degrees in the front camera and 135 degrees in the main camera.

The LG V20 is capable of studio quality audio recording

Hi-Fi offers a noise canceller to reduce background noise and voices. Also, V20 is the first smartphone to introduce 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC, a technology that gives high performance to the audio systems by clearing up to 50% distortion and ambient noise.

The audio experience goes even further with a 75-stage volume, L/R balance controls and the ability to read various professional audio formats, including FLAC, DSD, AIFF, and ALAC.

The HD Audio Recorder represents a new entry on sound recording tech. The handset is capable of studio quality audio recording. It as a Studio Mode to manually control sound like one would do in video cameras, and Music Recorded to create high-quality audio.
