A new leaked image surfaced on the Chinese social network Weibo, the country’s Facebook equivalent. It showed the back of a seemingly large smartphone that featured a dual-lens camera with a Leica logo on the right side.

Online sources were eager to identify this image as a leaked picture from Huawei’s upcoming P10 flagship device and compared to two other images that appeared on the same social network close to November 16. These previous photos featured a similar back design but no Leica logo.

Huawei’s latest premium device, the P9, already has a Leica-certified dual camera setup on its back. The powerful phablet’s specs rival those found in the iPhone 6S and the Samsung Galaxy Note 5.

Huawei P10 recent rumors and possible release date

One of Huawei’s marketing director has revealed to online sources that they will most likely start to focus on the P10 next year. The phone might be hitting stores worldwide sometime around mid-2017, and it is very probable that its price will be one of the lowest, compared to other devices on its league.

The first leaked images from November 16 also contained a suggested set of specs for the P10. Customers are expecting the phone to have a 5.5-inch screen with QHD resolution, a feature that the P9 currently lacks, and most similar smartphones already have.

Other rumored specs, now circulating the web, note that the P10 might come with Android 7.0, a 2560 x 1440 resolution, a Kirin 960 octa-core CPU running 2.3 GHz, 12MP for the rear cameras and 8MP for the front one, 6GB of RAM, and more.

The Kirin 960 system-on-a-chip (SoC) already has a place in another of Huawei’s most talked-about phones, the Mate 9.

The leaked pictures show a front fingerprint scanner and a possible glass finish

The alleged P10 pictures published on November 16 showed a large smartphone with a screen big enough to count as evidence for the new QHD display. The build is very similar to that of previous iPhone models, and in the bottom-right corner, users can see what appears to be a fingerprint scanner.

The back picture showed no other specifications but what seemed to be a full-metal encasing with a rose-like tone and the dual camera. But the newly leaked image, from November 18, shows an individual back glow that could mean a possible glass finish, a different dual-lens design, and the Leica Certified logo, as stated above.
