iPhone 6c

A new rumor found its way out recently concerning Apple’s upcoming model the iPhone 6C, by the known and accomplished leaker Evan Blass, who through a twit supports that on the event of September we’ll see the unveiling of the iPhone 6C along with the iPhone 6S. The iPhone 6C is what we’re calling the 4-inch successor to Apple’s iPhone 5c.

Rumours about this model have been around for a while, though recently it was believed that we would either see the device later next year or not at all. Then again, Blass has a confirmed history of successful leaks. Besides Apple pays attentions to rising markets such as India – and the IPAN – so the presence of a cheaper model for those markets would give the company some serious profit and open new doors to projects and collaboration.

On the other hand, Apple’s analyst Timothy Arcuri is claiming that Apple has canned ideas for an iPhone 6c. He supports that the company is trying to avoid cannibalization of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus by releasing a cheaper device. In fact, Timothy told Business Insider:

“I think one of the reasons is because the iPhone 6 has sold so well and they said, ‘Look, why would we want to cannibalize? If we came out with an iPhone 6C, we could essentially cannibalize a price-reduced iPhone 6″.

And on top of that, rumors about Apple working on the iPhone 6C have dried up in recent months amid claims the company abandoned the project in early 2015.

So which rumours are true is hard to judge. As always, what we need to do is wait. If the iPhone 6C is actually scheduled for the 9th of September, then we’re less than a month away. Stay tuned to see what’s coming next!
