The presidential debate is the pre-electoral event in The United States, giving people a chance to see each candidate on a ‘heads-up’ discussion. This time candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump discussed their proposals for the next term. But many journalists are debating who won the exchange among the participants.
Hillary Clinton has played many political roles in the United States. She has acted as first lady, senator and Secretary of State in the past representing the Democratic Party. She was also one of the closest supporters of Obama’s administration during both of his terms.
Undoubtedly, she made use of all her experience during this debate. She addressed questions about reforms in the work system and international policies making reference to Democratic policies utilized in the past. She also stated that she would give continuity to support programs such as Obama Care and the non-war treaties.
She also demonstrated a calm attitude after the constant interruptions from Donald Trump to challenge her answers. However, Clinton did not remain in silence and demanded respect from Trump. She mentioned that he had used misogynist comments in the past such as the insults directed towards the former Miss Universe, Alicia Machado.
Donald Trump used a fierce strategy to demonstrate his strong ideas
On the other hand, Donald Trump is a stranger to the politic field but has experience leading billionaire businesses under the Trump name. Republicans believe that a successful businessman as him is what the U.S. needs to shrine. He showed during the debate his knowledge in how the social problems affect the economy of the country.
He used a more aggressive strategy for this discussion. Instead of giving isolated answers, he tried to contrast Hilary’s ideas with his own by interrupting her. Trump used this opportunity to insist on his demands about Mexico and China disrupting the economic development of The United States.
He plans to reverse many policies regarding the alliances with the East. Also, Trump mentioned that his plan about the wall on the border with Mexico is still standing. He wants to reduce to a minimum the interference of foreign countries. He also expanded his plan of cutting taxes for big enterprises as a way to incentive the private industry.
Two different choices with different plans
So far, the polls seem to favor Hilary. The Huffington post released the results of their last election. She got a 46 percent. This puts her in the winning position when compared with Trump’s 42.1 percent. There is also a remarkable percentage of people who are still deciding, and they sum a total of 10 percent.
Analysts believe that this segment belongs to the Millenials and modern families who are still not sure how both candidates will affect their life’s.
