HTC has already released both a teaser image and a teaser video for its upcoming flagship smartphone. We think that the company is going to do more such teasers before the final release.
The hype for the upcoming HTC device is mounting, especially after its rivals, Samsung and LG, launched the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge and G5 respectively during MWC 2016. The S7 and S7 Edge are both available for pre-order and will start shipping officially from March 11. The LG G5 will also be there on all major carriers starting the coming week.
HTC had attended the MWC, however, they had not revealed the whereabouts of the upcoming flagship even when they had launched other devices. The HTC executive had, however, said that they are confident that the upcoming smartphone is going to be a show stopper.
“We can confidently say that HTC will have a very, very compelling camera experience. We’re making this comment after we’ve seen what’s going on in the market,” said HTC CFO Chialin Chang.
The recently released teaser had revealed that the device will have chamfered edges and the press renders that were also made public showed the handset from all angles. According to what we see, the design does look promising.

Moving on to the rumored specs, the device is expected to feature a 5.1-inch 2,560 x 1,440 quad-HD AMOLED display. Talking about what’s under the hood, the HTC 10 may be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 4 GB of RAM. For the internal memory, the latest rumors suggest the existence of three internal storage configurations; 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB, though do note that internal memory is expandable via microSD card.
According to the executive from HTC, the smartphone’s camera would be “very, very compelling“, we expect it to be a 2-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front facing “selfies” shooter. The handset may be supported by a 3,000 mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge 2.0 support.
It is expected that HTC will unveil the device in an official press release that is supposed to take place in April.
