After the rollout to most of its variants of the flagship lineup, including the One M9 and M8, HTC seems to be extending its update efforts to mid-rangers with a rather unexpected release for the HTC Desire Eye. The smartphone was not there on the original list of the devices that were eligible for the update.

It seems like HTC is continuing the process of rollouts as reports are coming in of Marshmallow updates appearing on both the One (E8) and the One (M8 Eye). For now, it seems like the device is getting the update in China. The later is on the same boat as of now, however, reports are suggesting that the European release is definitely on its way.

Here is a brief recap of the specs of the two devices.

Starting with the HTC One (E8), it features a 5.0 inches wide, 1080 x 1920 pixels (~441 ppi pixel density) resolution display. The device is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8975AC Snapdragon 801 processor with 2 GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage, which is expandable via external microSD to 128GB. For graphics processing, the device has an Adreno 330 GPU. In the camera department, the device comes with a 13MP rear and a 5MP front camera. The One E8 is backed by a 2,600mAh battery, while it also packs Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 technology.

Moving on to the HTC One (M8 Eye), it features a 5.0 inches wide, 1080 x 1920 pixels (~441 ppi pixel density) resolution display. The device is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8975AC Snapdragon 801 processor with 2 GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage, which is expandable via external microSD to 128GB. For graphics processing, the handset houses an Adreno 330 GPU. In the camera department, the M8 Eye sports dual 13MP rear cameras and a 5MP front shooter. A 2,600mAh keeps the juice running in the smartphone.
