Comparisons between browsers have existed for years and the companies constantly update their respective browser to make it more appealing for the audience.

Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox are two of the most used browsers by everyone in the planet, amongst others, and here is why the people use them.

Google Chrome

Google Chrome is a browser developed by Google (NASDAQ: GOOGL) and was released to the open public on December 11 in 2008. Chrome offers the user a friendly and polished interface from the start. It does not give the user the option to freely customize it, but with an easy and intuitive interface, people don’t look for customization.

It is said that Chrome sucks up the RAM of the PC, but it has its reason. Chrome manages every tab as an individual process in order to prevent the whole browser from crashing if one of the tabs does it.

Chrome has an enormous quantity of extension to offer the user, some of them exclusive to the browser. This makes the browser very popular because it makes it easier for the users to do whatever they have to do, there are extensions for boosting the productivity of the browser, others appear in the Extension tab at the top of the browser to fast use. And people keep creating extensions for the users to have a better experience.

It comes with Web development tools preferred by professionals at the moment of Web designing and programming.

In matters of security, Chrome is one of the best, running in a sandbox all processes it prevents malware to access files and archives in the system because it keeps them in it. It also provides a more security at the moment of synchronizing devices because it uses an end-to-end encryption, which means that only the communicating devices can read the information.

Being developed by Google, it is natural that it keeps at the edge of technology evolution as Google’s own developer’s team help to improve the Web.

Mozilla Firefox

Mozilla Firefox is a browser developed by Mozilla Foundation and was released to the open public on September 23 in 2002.

Firefox offers the opportunity to customize its interface. It gives the users the chance to install themes to change the appearance of the browser and move the buttons and address bar and place them wherever the user wants them to be. Image Source: Firefox

With this, it comes the possibility to hide the buttons the user do not want to see or use.

It does not start to load a tab until you select them, this helps to prevent the browser to clog when a couple of tabs are open at the same time. But it also takes it time to start and to load a website.

It provides a Reading Mode, which helps the users concentrate on the article they are reading by removing advertisements and images, and it can change the color of the background and the text to make it easier to read.

When it comes to security, Mozilla Firefox does not collect or save any personal data, which could make the people feel safer about their information.

Which one is the best browser?

In the interface side, Google Chrome gives no option of customization whatsoever, but it comes with a fresh interface that does not give the user the need to do it. While Mozilla Firefox gives the users the opportunity to fully customize it the way they want.

On the other side, Mozilla does not provide this independent management, and it is slower than Chrome at the moment of loading websites, but it comes with a feature that can make more efficient the general process because it does not load a tab if you don’t click on it first.

As for the security, Google Chrome provides a very safety option because it runs everything in a sandbox, but it is no secret that Google takes information of every of its users. While Mozilla Firefox does not care about having and saving the users information.

Is really a matter of what the user wants rather that what the browsers can offer.
