Bungie reveals Warmind, Destiny 2’s latest expansion

Destiny 2 will launch its new expansion “Warmind” on May 8 and it will be bringing in a new Horde style public event into the game. Bungie revealed in a live stream what players should be expecting from this new expansion pack, and among the new stuff for players to explore like the new story and area in a place called Hellas Basin and new weapons to take on new bosses.

Bungie also revealed that PS4 players will get a treat by granting them new armors for each of Destiny 2’s playable classes: Hunter, Titan, and Warlock. Also, PS4 players will get an exclusive new strike called “the insight Terminus” as the developing company revealed this Tuesday.

What is Warmind all about?

Warmind will focus on making players help the Titan Zavala invade an alien stronghold on Nessus. Bungie’s team gave a description of the strike and the expansion, “Zavala needs a team of guardians to break into a Vex tomb on Nessus that has been overrun by the Cabal. Defeat the powerful Psion commander before he can take over the Vex gateway network and reap the rewards.”

Bungie gave some final details on the changes that await Destiny 2’s vs Crucible mode. With the start of season 3, Crucible will present ranks and private matches, which have been on demand by the Destiny community for a while now. Also, Bungie revealed that it will be granting access to all Crucible maps, yet they’ll still have to buy the expansion pack to fully own the Warmind maps and private match features.

Players will play on a return trip to Mars, in which they will team up with Ana Bray and a long forgotten AI called Rasputin in order to take on the spread of a lost faction called the Hive. All of this will take place beneath Mars’s ice caps, a zone also known as Hellas Basin, where players will be able to explore new Exotics and weapons.

What are some of the new features coming to Destiny 2?

Another new feature coming with the updates and expansion packs is the community events that will be unlocked once players have successfully finished the main story mode. It presents unique interplanetary events called Escalation Protocols, and among them, the new horde-style mission that will allow players to take on a classical mode in either solo or accompanied by a mate.

This new horde mode is set across 7 deadly enemy waves, with each skirmish becoming harder, they will present a more challenging boss, and finally putting players to a time test in which they will be forced to defeat the boss before time runs out.

Finally, these new updates will obviously include more fun stuff like emotes, upgrades and changes to the existing Exotics, as well as new Crucible events and a new quality of gaming experience for Destiny fans, all coming in Season 3’s updates.
