On November 8, BMW Motorrad unveiled the new BMW G310GS Adventure Tourer at the EICMA Milan Motorcycle Show in Italy. The G310GS is BMW is the second motorcycle developed with TVS Motor Company, the third largest bike maker in India.

The long-awaited bike is the latest addition to the segment of quarter-litre adventure tourers. Sharing its underpinnings with the G310R, the G310GS will be built at BMW’s Hosur-based facility in India.

BMW Motorrad is having a busy year. In addition to the G310R and the G310GS, the German company also launched the 2017 BMW R1200GS and showed off a prototype of the HP4 Race at EICMA. The mysterious HP4 Race is set to be BMW’s most exclusive bike yet.

The BMW G310GS Adventure Tourer specs

In line with the larger GS models, the sub-500cc G310GS has kept the short front beak and radiator shrouds.

The headlamp cowl and the decals extended on the fuel tank of the other GS also remain untouched. Finally, the two-piece Trellis frame and the step up seat are still there.

The G310R’s fuel-injected engine powers the BMW G310GS, too. The Euro 4 compliant 313cc single-cylinder packs 34hp at 9500rpm and 28Nm of torque to the G310GS, the same as the G310R.

The engine’s torque is available between 9,500rpm to 10,500rpm, combined with a 6-speed gearbox.

Even though it weighs a hefty 169.5 kg, the G310GS still has a balanced power-to-weight ratio. On the front, the bike gets long travel 41mm USD forks and 19-inch alloy wheels. An LCD shows the user all the motorcycle’s information.

BMW is also offering dual-channel ABS and a luggage carrier as standard features in the G310GS. Lastly, the company gives buyers a host of accessories like heated grips, satellite navigation, and 12-volt power sockets. They can choose between 820mm or 850mm seats.

BMW has not released any information regarding the price. However, since the G310GS is more premium version of the G310R, it should be slightly more expensive. BMW recently announced the G310R would have a $5,790 price tag.

The G310R is set to launch by mid-2017 in India, while the G310GS should arrive by 2018.
