The new features of Bing Maps
Bing Maps is a part of Microsoft’s (NASDAQ: MSFT) Bing search engine suite. It is powered by ‘Bing Maps for Enterprise’ framework. Bing Maps has undergone a lot of changes ever since it was released in July 2005. The current version of maps consists of lots of useful features which will help users to plan their travels and vacations easily.
Users can search and view multiple places at the same time. These search results are arranged in the form of ‘cards’. They can also see photos and reviews of these places, published by trusted partners of Bing like Yelp. Users can see a rich set of visuals of these places and the detailed information will help them make a better travel plan. Information like services nearby and hours of operation will also be displayed for the searched places. Users can also perform actions like “save as favorite,” “add to route,” and “view streetside” by right-clicking on their screen.
Bing has literally reformed the maps. It will be interesting to see how the Bing Maps perform against its competitor, Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) Maps.
