Prophets of Rage will release their debut EP on August 26 with Caroline Records. The fie-track work will be available for pre-order the same day their “Make America Rage Again Tour” is set to start, August 19.
The super group features former members of Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy, and Cypress Hill. Their music centers on heavy lyrics criticizing the system. They offer to “Take the Power Back” with their music. The members of the band stated “such dangerous times” the country was going through demanded their participation.
With “The Party’s Over,” fans will hear versions and original songs alike. The record includes their debut single, “Prophets of Rage” and “The Party’s Over,” as well as versions of “Killing in the Name” (Rage Against the Machine), “Shut Em Down” (Public Enemy) and “No Sleep Til Cleveland” (The Beastie Boys).
The Make America Rage Again tour
The new super group’s new EP arrives when America is going through troubled times. The most controversial presidential race, the racial problems, the mass shootings, and much more have the Americans wondering about their future. The band said they wanted to be the voice of all the people that are angry with how things are.
Classic RATM single “Take the Power Back” was a six-minute relentless rage. The Legendary Zach de la Rocha sang by the end of the song: “The circle of hatred continues unless we react, we gotta take the power back.” Sadly, this time, he is not lending his voice to the project, even when the backbone of Prophets is made up Tom Morello (guitar-player), Tim Commerford (bass-player) and Brad Wik (drummer) from Rage.

Frontman of Public Enemy, Chuck D, is going to be the new lead singer and does his best to reanimate de la Rocha’s voice. Lead rapper of Cypress Hill, B-Real, joins the chorus, with Public Enemy’s Dj Lord pumps the beat from the background.
It’s also worth noting that the EP was produced by Brenda O’Brien, men at the helm of RATM’s Evil Empire and The Battle of Los Angeles studio albums. The record goes with the promise to “Make America Rage Again.”
The group’s first single, “Prophets of Rage,” was first performed hours before the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio, during a guerrilla debut show at Los Angeles’s Whisky A Go Go, on July 19th.
The Prophets are taking advantage of the system
The Summer-trek will start at the EagleBank Arena in Fairfax, Virginia. The tickets will have a starting price of 20$ and fans can buy them or check the schedule on the band’s official website. First show’s prices reached as high as $100, as the Profits of Rage contract their venues with ticketing giants like Ticketmaster.
Their “Make America Rage Again Tour” parodies the campaign of the Washington outsider, Donald Trump, an all-around unconventional politic. RATM classic single “Know Your Enemy” echoes trough the past to signal Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, a face behind the system Tom Morello and the others have sung against for so long.
No wonder the site makes no reference to any advocacy groups provides no instructions to vote nor bears any political messages. Even so, the six-man rap-rock band is taking advantage of the political turmoil.
