Adobe announced on Wednesday a massive update for its Creative Cloud ecosystem, introducing new applications and features to bring richer experiences to users. Adobe presented its new products at its annual conference Adobe MAX 2016.

The announcement by Adobe comes on the first day of the two-day event. The company started its update exhibition first by providing a series of figures illustrating growth projections for 2017. Adobe expects a 20% revenue increase next year totaling $7 billion.

Adobe MAX 2016 will continue on November 3 with keynotes featuring creative leaders like the fashion designer Zac Posen, the photographer Lynsey Addario, and the renowned filmmaker Quentin Tarantino.

As speakers, they will showcase Adobe’s software applications in their respective areas of expertise.

Adobe introduces Project Felix for 3D image composition

One of the highlights of the San Diego conference was the introduction of Project Felix, a new piece of software by Adobe that allows creators to merge 2D and 3D elements in a combined, photo-realistic image.

Adobe sets Project Felix apart from other brand applications of its Cloud Platform as it is currently in its early stages. It is not full-fledged software like Photoshop yet, and in fact, the company is pitching the app as intuitive and easy to use.

Project Felix does not require experience or expertise in 3D modeling, and even graphic designers and editors with the most basic Photoshop knowledge can use it. The software is currently entering its Beta testing phase, and it will be available next year.

Adobe Sensei brings AI and machine learning to the Creative Cloud

Adobe also presented a new platform powered by AI, machine learning, and deep learning in its new Adobe Sensei framework.

The application is an umbrella system that integrates and enables smart functions across several Creative Cloud products. Adobe expressed Sensei was open for developer partners who want to work on the application.

“Adobe Sensei is uniquely focused on solving today’s complex experience challenges in the design, document and marketing fields, where only Adobe has decades of expertise and leadership,” said Shantanu Narayen, CEO and President of Adobe Systems Inc.

Some of the functions Adobe Sensei enables include extensive data collection across applications, font recognition, face detection, automated tagging, anomaly detection, sentiment analysis, smart advertisement insights, and more.

Adobe’s Creative Cloud Suite is now available for Android

The addition of Project Felix and Adobe Sensei to the Creative Cloud ecosystem does not mean the company forgot about its signature applications.

Flagship Adobe software like Premiere and Experience Design (XD) got new features like real-time collaboration support and enhancements in the render of 3D elements and animation for VR and AR projects.

Adobe Stock, the company’s large stock image, and video archive got a significant expansion through a partnership with the news agency Reuters.

There are changes in Adobe Spark including the removal of Adobe’s watermark in products created using the storytelling tool.

Adobe added functions and features to Creative Cloud applications like Dreamweaver, Animate, Auditon, After Effects, Character Animator, Photoshop, and more.

Moreover, the entire Creative Cloud suite of mobile applications is now finally available for Android devices.
