Amazon Echo also enables you to play music from a wide range of source with the capability to fill the room with an enhanced 360-degree omni-directional audio.

While Google has not yet announced the pricing of Home device, Amazon Echo is available for $180. Both Google Home and Amazon Echo provides an ability to respond to voice commands including always listening feature.
Services available
On the streaming segment, Google Home provides support for Google Play Music, Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio, TuneIn streaming platforms. However, Echo includes support for all the platforms expect Amazon Prime Music.
Amazon has established partnerships with leading players like Nest, Ecobee, SmartThings, Wink, Insteon, and Belkin WeMo for smart home, with Google partnering with Nest and some other undisclosed companies.
Google Home wins customization
The main attraction of Google Home is that you can easily customize the appearance, while this option is not available with Amazon Echo.
Moreover, Home also provides support for output to stereo system via Chromecast. By default, Amazon has not integrated this feature but you can make use of Amazon Dot to activate it.
With both Google Home and Amazon Echo, you will be able to add items to calendar, make a shopping list, to do list, check flight status, including tracking of shipment packages and such.
You can easily order pizza, as well as book an Uber pickup. Amazon is planning to add 900+ more tasks and skills in the upcoming months.
Furthermore, Google Home enables you to sync audio playback to multiple devices. This facility is not possible with Amazon Echo.
Amazon Echo: A more stable option at the moment
On the other hand, though, Amazon Echo’s simplicity of usage is phenomenal. For example, you just need to tell “Alexa, set a timer for 340 minutes” and the Echo automatically performs the task.
Amazon Echo is an established device with several reviews. However, Google Home is still in its infancy. If you don’t require either of these two devices, then you should wait till Home is publicly released.
