Twitter Inc. (NASDAQ: TWTR) is taking a new step to lure content creators to their platform. The network will share any advertising revenue with influencers, so users who publish videos on the media will get about 70 percent of the advertisement earnings.
Previously, Twitter’s Amplify Publisher was only available to companies, but now it extended to include the general public.
The company must approve an account to enter the program (after a quick application), and then users must check a box to play pre-roll spots before their video starts.
Twitter already offers revenue to media and entertainment companies via the Amplify Publisher Program. Now, their share with non-traditional talents is even bigger than the deal Facebook, and YouTube has with their creators, a close 50/50 split.
The most relevant social media platforms, including Facebook, YouTube, Snapchat, Vine, and Instagram, are competing to keep or recruit top talent as they aim to cash-in on the television-style advertising that is installing on the Internet.
It’s worth noting creators will be able to share their content without exclusivity contracts.
How can people start with the Amplify Publisher Program?
Users interested in monetizing their video content must first visit studio.twitter.com for Media Studio access. The web page is the site where people may find all videos, Gifs and images they have posted on Twitter.
The site offers a complete FAQ about posting media on Twitter and will include video analytics, tweet schedule, unified media library, team management and multi-account support.
People that are members of the Media Studio already may find a link to subscribe to Twitter’s Amplify Program.
Mobile device users require the Twitter Engage app, available only on the App Store for iOS. Inside the app, customers must click Earnings->Amplify Publisher Program and check if they are eligible to be publishers.
Twitter also recommends joining niche.Co, a global media for content creators. 35,000 users inside Niche will be receiving a prompt from Twitter to join the Publisher program.

Professional Twitters could make more money than YouTubers
The move is part of a bigger push the company is making to appeal to content creators. Twitter just launched the media library on August 30 to upgrade user’s experience and management of video content.
Accordingly, the Twitter Engage app reached the market in June and is designed to manage the earnings inside the platform.
However, while Twitter is working to compete with Facebook and YouTube on original content, the two giants are evolving into live streaming.
Youtube live video views increased 80 percent in the past year and according to Facebook, average users watch live videos three times more than regular clips.
