Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus; know the rumors, specs and release date

Seoul, South Korea – Samsung (NASDAQ: SSNLF), the South Korean tech giant, is all set to unveil its new device; Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus along with flagship 5^th generation Galaxy Note on August 13^th in New York City. However, earlier it was claimed that Samsung would release it in IFA event in September, but later on Samsung has advanced the launching date in order to reach stores early and capture its market.

Expected features of Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is said to sport a 5.5-inch super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen measuring 154.45 x 75.80 x 6.85 mm with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution having 401 ppi pixel density. The screen is expected to be curved on both sides, just like the Galaxy S6 Edge. The glass used for the protection of the display is yet to be confirmed by the officials. It is expected to support single Nano-SIM; supporting 4G networks also.

The smartphone is expected to have the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor that LG used in the G4 to power the device. Along with Exynos 7420 chipset, the CPU is expected to be Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 and Quad-core 2.1 GHz Cortex-A57 backed by Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. Also, the device is expected to have 4 GB RAM along with 32 GB internal memory. But, the option of expanding the storage via MicroSD card slot is not yet confirmed.

Galaxy S6 Edge Plus houses 16 MP camera with 2988 x 5312 pixels resolution and 5 MP front snapper. The main camera will be supported with features like touch focus, auto HDR, optical image stabilization and 4K video recording ability. The smartphone will sport a 3,000 mAh battery and will offer significantly more battery life compared to Galaxy S6 Edge’s 2,600 mAh battery.

The smartphone is expected to come with OneDrive; a 115 GB cloud storage. It will also sport a wireless charging feature. Fingerprint sensor (PayPal certified) and Samsung Pay (Visa, MasterCard certified) are also value-added features of the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. The smartphone is expected to come in two color variants – white pearl and black sapphire.
