Xiaomi launches Mi TV 3S in China: 65-inch 4K Samsung display for less than $1,400

Xiaomi has launched two new Mi Tv models in its home market China, dubbed as the Mi TV 3S. The Mi TV 3S will be available in two variants, the first one is a 65-inch curved 4K model and another smaller 43-inch flat screen Full HD model. The Mi TV 3S Curve is priced at CNY 8,999 (approximately 1,380 USD) while the 43-inch FHD variant costs an affordable CNY 1,799 (approximately 276 USD). Here is a brief overview

Design

The 65-inch variant is barely 5.9mm thin and the speaker setup is external. For this, Xiaomi has included Mi TV bar which houses an independent 6-piece sound system. The design type for the TV is a curved screen.

The 43-inch installment is flatter and thicker at 10.9mm.

Display

As the name suggests, the 4K model supports a 3840 x 2160 pixels resolution, 65 inches wide display. The display comes from Samsung. As for the other variant, it sports a 1920X1080 pixels resolution, 43 inches wide display, also made from Samsung.

Specs

The 65 inch TV is powered by an Mstar 6A928 TV processor, 2GB of RAM along with 8GB of internal storage. As for the 43 inch TV, it is powered by an Mstar 6A908 processor.

Software

Both Mi TV 3S models are powered by Xiaomi’s MIUI with Android as the base.

Pricing and Availability

At present, the TVs will be available only in China, retailing $1,400 for the 65-inch version and $276 for the 43-inch variant.

Furthermore, Xiaomi had also recently launched a 70-inch version of the Xiaomi Mi TV 3 with a 4K display that went on sale in its home market China. This TV was definitely a surprise and is priced at 9999 Yuan (approximately 1537 USD). It features a high color gamut, MEMC motion compensation with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the TV also packs an MStar 6A928 processor with Cortex- A17 1.4GHz CPU and Mali-760 MP4 GPU, 2GB DDR3 RAM and 8GB eMMC 5.0 as well.
