American actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson slammed some of his Fast eight male co-stars for their apparent unprofessionalism via an Instagram post.
The semi-retired professional wrestler is set to appear in the eighth installment of the everlasting The Fast and the Furious franchise in his role as Luke Hobbs, the DSS agent who allied with Dominic Toretto and his team after the heists in Rio de Janeiro and Europe.
He praised the crew, studio and female cast
The Rock announced this was his final week of shooting Fast & Furious 8 on his official Instagram account. He then proceeded to describe the atmosphere throughout the film’s development and filming.
The action movie star first noted the illegal street racing and heists franchise was the only one able to get his “blood boiling.” He then praised the film’s production crew and Universal Pictures, the studio behind Fast 8, for their incredible efforts and a great partnership.
The female cast features Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz, Dom’s wife and a professional street racer, Elsa Pataky as Elena Neves, Hobbs’ partner at the DSS, Charlize Theron as villain Cipher, Nathalie Emmanuel as Ramsey, and Helen Mirren in an unspecified role.
But wasn’t as flattering with his male co-stars
Dwayne showed tons of love for the women acting in the film but not as much for his male partners, though.
The Rock explained that some were “stand up men” and “real professionals,” while others were the opposite calling them “chicken shits” and “candy asses.” He even said the when moviegoers watch Fast 8 in April next year they’ll notice some scenes where he’s “blood is legit boiling.”
The whole male cast includes Scott Eastwood (son of Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood), Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Ludacris, Kurt Russell, Lucas Black, Tyrese Gibson and Kristofer Hivju. All of them suspects in Johnson’s quarrel.
The Rock is playing ‘Guess Who?’ and the cast doesn’t appreciate it
After filming for Furious 7 finished in July 2014, Johnson also commented about it on Instagram thanking the crew “who’s had to practice great restraint daily on this production,” he added. Therefore, it’s possible the suspect or suspects appeared in the last Fast & Furious flick as well, which means Scott Eastwood and Kristofer Hivju might be innocent on this one.
Plus, TMZ’s sources said The Rock wasn’t talking about Ludacris nor Tyrese Gibson. The celebrity news website also reported that male co-stars are all pissed at The Rock for calling some of them divas without mentioning names, in what was probably not the best way to distinguish himself from chickens.
Hence, the short list includes Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Lucas Black and Kurt Russell, but that’s as far as it gets for now.
Fast eight will mark the first film of the franchise, other than The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, not to star Paul Walker, who died in a crash in 2013 before shooting for Furious 7 ended. On happier news, the movie is scheduled to hit theaters on April 14, 2017.
