Xperia Z5, Z5 Premium and Z5 Compact receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update in Japan

It is true that Sony has been quite slow when it comes to pushing updates for their devices, however, it looks like the company is trying to get rid of that image and is working hard to push the software updates. Recently, the Japanese tech company has started rolling out the Marshmallow software for the Sony Xperia Z5 series handsets in Japan.

According to reports that were published by International Business Times, Sony Mobile has released the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update for the owners of Sony Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Premium in Japan. It was also rumored that other Sony Xperia Z5 owners – as well as other Xperia Z series devices – are nearly all set to obtain the Android 6.0 software upgrade.

Before updating their devices, though, there are a couple of precautions that users should take. Even if the data is going to be safe as the update is an incremental one, still making a backup is advised. Also, before installing the update make sure that your device is charged to at least 60 percent of charge. Do keep in mind that once you update, you can’t downgrade the software.
