Smartphone slowing down? Invisible ads are to be blamed

In today’s era of modernization, advertisements in electronic form have made a roaring impact in generating revenues for the app developers. Now-a-days, app developers not only make revenues through visible ads; but also through invisible ads that not only impact the advertisers, but also the consumers or the users of the apps as well.

A recent study by Forensiq reveals the fact that 1% of the smartphones in the US have at least 1 app in their smartphones, which is found guilty for having these invisible ads and defrauding marketers. This has led to a huge cost of $850 million a year to the advertisers paid to the app developers for the ads which remained invisible and never reached to their specified targeted consumer.

The effects of invisible ads

The invisible ads in the apps cost the advertisers hugely and at the same time, it also deteriorates the user’s smartphone through a number of ways. Firstly, it affects the overall performance of the smartphone by making it slow by eating the Central Processing Unit (CPU) of the smartphone. At the same time, these invisible ads limit the battery life, leaving its impact by draining it more rapidly. Also, these invisible ads use data plans of the user, thereby eating the pocket of user and that too invisibly!

As a part of monetization strategy, app developers incorporate ads in the free apps to make money along with the revenue generated through in-app purchases. In this way, app developers make huge money from free apps and these ads are the most probable reason for apps developers going for developing free apps more as advertisers are more willing to empty their pockets when compared to the price sensitive users who opt for the free version of apps rather than the paid apps.

Thus, it is quite clear that smartphones are running slowly, not because of their over-usage, but rather because of the invisible ads. This scenario has led to the overall degradation of the smartphone making it slow and making the users annoyed. At the same time, the apps also start crashing because of the invisible ads running in the background.

Invisible ads are certainly a huge problem for both the advertisers and the smartphone users; however, there isn’t any solid solution for this as of now.
