On the IFA 2015 conference, we expect to see for the first time a new smartphone manufactured by Gigaset, Siemen’s subsidiary company handling the mobile department.
Information from Android Headlines talk about a new smartphone with Gigaset’s branch, which will mark Siemens’ return to the smartphone market. The upcoming model is rumoured to have the code name GS55-6 and is estimated to belong to the high end tire.
The first few leaked details on the technical features showed us a Full HD screen at 1080p, while there is no talk about the inches yet. There will also be 3 gigs of RAM and internal capacity up to 32 GB. The processor is expected to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Octa-Core 64 Bit, with the graphics being taken under the control of an Adreno 430 GPU.
Now to the imaging field, on the back side we speculate to see a 16-megapixel camera while on the front Siemens will most likely go with an 8-megapixel shooter. And given that this company has made a name – and for a good reason too – for its great camera and high resolution technologies, the front camera could be pretty hard to compare to any other front camera on the market. A wise move indeed. There have also been leaked a few first pictures from the company which indicate that the GS55-6 will have a metal frame.
There has been no word on when or where the Siemens Gigaset GS55-6 will land or how much it will cost when it arrives, as it is the company’s first handset in ages. From our perspective, it should be priced affordably if they’re looking to make a splash, despite the fact that it will probably be considered as a high end device.
