Samsung Galaxy S6 Vs iPhone 6S Christmas DEALS: Which one to buy?

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is the latest flagship device by the Korean smartphone manufacturing giant, Samsung, whereas the iPhone 6S is manufactured by Apple and is their latest pride of series.

Both these devices are having their own pros and cons. This time of year, usually, there are a lot of deals on many flagship devices, so, before getting to the deals that are available on these two bad boys, let’s put them head to head to figure out which one suits your personal needs best.

Design

Apple has maintained the standard all-aluminium design that was seen in its predecessor, the iPhone 6. However, it is a bit thicker than the 6, owing to the addition of the Force Touch technology. Dimensionally, the iPhone 6S is 7.1mm thick and measures 5.44 x 2.64 x 0.28 inches, while it weighs, 143g.

As for the Samsung Galaxy S6, they have made a complete overhaul when it comes to the design that we used to see in the Galaxy S5. They have opted for the fusion of metal and glass back. The fusion gives an amazing look and in-hand feel to the device.

Dimensionally, the S6 is 6.8mm thick and measures 5.65 x 2.78 x 0.27 inches while it weighs at about 138g.

Display

The Apple iPhone 6S features a 4.7-inch wide 1334X750 pixel resolution display that has a pixel density of 326ppi. Moreover, the screen is protected by Sapphire Glass that is ion-strengthened glass and it is covered oleophobic coating.

As for the Samsung Galaxy S6, it features a Super AMOLED, 5.1-inch wide display that has a 2560X1440 pixels resolution and 577 ppi pixel density. Talking of protection, the S6 display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

Camera

The Apple iPhone 6S features a 12MP rear camera that has a f/2.2 aperture. The front camera on this device is a 5MP shooter that has an aperture of f/2.2.

As for the Samsung Galaxy S6, it features a 16MP rear shooter that has an aperture of f/1.9. The front camera on this device is a 5MP shooter that also has an aperture of f/1.9.

Specs

The Apple iPhone 6S is powered by the Apple A9 chip which is a dual-core processor, clocked at 1.84 GHz and 2GB of RAM. It comes in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB internal storage variants.

Talking of the Samsung Galaxy S6, it is powered by an Exynos 7420 processor, which is a 64-bit octa-core processor that has two quad cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and 2.1 GHz and 3GB of RAM. It comes only in one internal storage option of 32GB.

Battery

The iPhone 6S features a 1715 battery, whereas the S6 features a 2550 mAh capacity battery.

Software

The iPhone 6S runs on iOS 9 which is upgradeable to iOS 9.2, whereas the S6 runs on Samsung’s home-brewed TouchWiz Android UI which is based off Android 5.0.2, however, it is upgradeable to Android  6.0 Marshmallow.

When it comes to the software, the two mobile operating systems are targeting two separate user markets. Be it the difference in customizability, or features, or even availability of applications, the two platforms share no resemblance.

Deals

The best deal for the Apple iPhone 6S is offered by BestBuy. They are offering the iPhone 6S for $100 less than the original listed price with every new two-year contract with Verizon and Sprint. On new contracts, the device costs $99, which usually sells at $199.

For the Samsung Galaxy S6, eBay is offering the best deal. At eBay, you can get a $200 discount on the S6. The device sells at $399 as opposed to the selling price of $599 – compatible with T-Mobile.

Finally, our verdict will be to suggest you to go with the iPhone 6S if you are looking for a phone with good battery life. Otherwise, specifications wise, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is the definite winner here.
