The American jazz ensemble is the star guest on the tour, and the band’s former drummer, Jack Iron, will be a part of the Peppers during the January dates.
The tour will all about the album that spurred “Dark Necessities,” “Go Robot,” and “The Getaway.” Critics received the album with open arms. A review in USA Today declares “The Getaway not only proves that the longtime rockers are still sizzle 30 years in, but also capable of victoriously revamping their sound.”
While Rolling Stone magazine said the record reached a compelling – yet not perfect – mix between the classic funky RHCP and their mature 2016 versions. The outlet gave the album a 3.5 stars review.
