Beverly Hills – The Television Critics Association (TCA) recognized this Saturday night the latest achievements in television during the 32nd edition of the TCA Award at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.
The critics association revealed the list of nominees that would compete in the 11 categories at the end of June. Out of all the candidates, the FX drama anthology “The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story” was the most awarded with three awards out of three nominations, including the coveted Program of the Year.
The ceremony hosted by Jaime Camil, star of the CW’s “Jane the Virgin”, gleamed with talent on Saturday night, where television personalities gathered to celebrate and recognize their peers.

“The People vs. O.J. Simpson” took home the Program of the Year award in a category contested by two other FX shows: “The Americans” and “Fargo”.
HBO’s epic fantasy show “Game of Thrones” is already a veteran and it stood firmly again this year, yet failing to get the prize. Three newcomers also received praise from the critics in this category: USA’s “Mr. Robot”, Netflix’s “Making a Murderer” and the Lifetime series “UnREAL”.
HBO led the Outstanding Achievement in Comedy category with its two shows “Veep” and “Silicon Valley”. However, it was “Black-ish” from ABC that stood above its five competitors in the eyes of the critics. Aziz Ansari’s “Master of None” was also up for the prize, along with “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” and “You’re the Worst.”
The FX spy thriller “The Americans” won Outstanding Achievement in Drama, a category in which HBO also had two contesting shows representing the network. The “Breaking Bad” spin-off series “Better Call Saul” left empty handed.
The Mary Tyler Moore Show received the Heritage Award
“The People v. O.J. Simpson” pocketed its second win with the Outstanding Achievement in Movies, Miniseries, and Specials. The show by Ryan Murphy, along with “Fargo” from the same network, was against runner-ups from History, HBO, and AMC.
“Mr. Robot” was one of the highlights of the night for winning Outstanding New Program, the only win for the North American network show out of four nominations.
The Individual Achievement in Comedy went to Rachel Bloom, star of the CW’s “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”, while the Drama category went to Sarah Paulson for her performance as prosecutor Marcia Clark in “The People v. O.J. Simpson.”
The 76-year-old comedy actress Lily Tomlin received the Career Achievement Award, while the Heritage Award went to the iconic “The Mary Tyler Moore Show.”
“Full Frontal with Samantha Bee” won for Outstanding Achievement in News and Information. “Making a Murderer” and “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” won the Reality and Youth Programming categories respectively.
Next up in the world of entertainment are the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards, a ceremony that will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on September 18.
