Nintendo 2DS gets another price cut; 5 Games worth Buying

The Nintendo 2DS’s prices were slashed by $20 on May 11, 2016, now making the device available for a price of $80.

It has been less than a year since Nintendo offered its first price cut on the 2DS and now it has offered the second. The first was back in August 2015, when it dropped its price to $100 from the original retail price of $130.

The Nintendo 2DS comes in a ‘brick’ format and not ‘clamshell’ like the 3DS, so it’s not foldable. It houses 2 screens, one of which is touch-responsive and also lets you doodle on it. The other serves as the screen for games with the same controls as on the 3DS. While it is aimed at a younger audience, the 2DS is capable of running all 3DS games without the 3D effect.

Here are the top five games you must get for you 2DS.

Super Smash Bros.

The latest Super Smash Bros (Rated 7/10) brings a series of new fights, where a player can connect over the Wi-Fi or LAN and compete with up to three opponents. The crossover fighting game between Nintendo’s franchises, allows users to win Nintendo trophies with a few newly added characters to the fighting scene.

Pokemon- Omega Ruby

Pokemon- Omega Ruby (Rated 7/10) comes with an added ‘Primal Reversion’ feature where you can make your pocket monsters more powerful. You’ll travel through the town, battling other players while capturing your own Pokemon’s along the way.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask

One of the best games from the series, ‘The Legend of Zelda: Major’s Mask’, (Rated 8/10) puts Link into the land of Termina, where he’s got just 72 hours to prevent the destruction of the World.

Unlike the other games in the series, this one demands that Link complete as many tasks as possible within the 3-day time frame, if not he will travel back in time to watch the World turn to dust.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

With scenes much like its predecessor, apart from the fact that Link has a new ability to turn into a flat portrait on the wall, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, (Rated 8/10) requires Link to bring the ‘Dark World’ and our World together to battle the enemy.

Fire Emblem: Awakening

One of the most interesting games to be played on the 2DS, Fire Emblem: Awakening, (9/10) will have you study the past, figure out abilities and train with different characters as the story of warring kingdoms and ancient magic unfolds.

You will also see Lucina and Robin from the Super Smash Bros game.

There are a number of other games available on the Nintendo Store for purchase. Browse through the store according to the type of games you enjoy and you may find some more that interest you.
