Moto G 2014 (2nd gen) Android 6.0 Marshmallow update ‘coming soon’

Motorola’s Dave Schuster has been, very kindly, keeping everyone updated on the company’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow plans for its devices and now he has brought some good news. A Marshmallow soak test is now underway for the Moto G (2nd Gen) in Brazil and India.

This test is scheduled to take place before the roll-out of the update for the wider user base, which will hopefully happen by the end of this month. This update will be applicable for both the 3G and the 4G LTE models of this device.

Motorola has also updated its support page to accompany the soak test, with the facts that you need to know about the new software. The main references are to the new Marshmallow app permissions, do not disturb settings, and Now on Tap, along with Motorola’s own Alert and Assist features, among other features that are due to be added in this update. This addition to the website can prove to be a good read while you wait for the updates to come to your device.

As of now, Motorola has updated many of its recent devices, including the Moto G Turbo Edition and Moto X Play in India and Brazil, with the Android Marshmallow 6.0 update. So, with the features that are included in those updates, we have a fairly good idea of we can expect in this latest update.

As for the earlier soak tests, it is designed to reach only a small number of users, such that they are able to iron out any bugs that may be left in the last minute. So, keep an eye out for the OTA for the next few weeks as it is still not that far away for the Moto G (2nd gen).

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is sure to make the device much more exciting.
