Katy Perry stripped naked for a comedy video to encourage young US citizens to vote in the upcoming presidential election scheduled for Tuesday, November 8, 2016. On that day, Americans will choose between Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump.
The pop star gets arrested in the Funny or Die’s sketch while insisting she has the right to vote entirely nude. Perry’s exposed attempt didn’t come without prior notice. Last Monday, the singer wrote she would use her body as click bait to help change the world. The Instagram post clearly stated she would do so the next day.
She teamed up with Funny or Die and Rock the Vote on Voter Registration Day. The former is an Emmy-winning comedy video website founded by Will Ferrell. Meanwhile, the latter is a non-profit organization established in 1990 to inspire young people to vote.
Madonna also got caught up in the naked fever. The Queen of Pop posted in her social media outlets a nude selfie encouraging people to vote for Hillary. Perry didn’t advocate for one politician or the other in the video.
Nowhere in the Constitution says people have to vote well dressed
At least that’s what Katy Perry tells voters in the hilarious footage. The girl who kissed a girl decided to vote naked and apparently she liked it, too. With her hair full of popcorn and candy, the “Teenage Dream” interpreter says voters can attend the election with their pajamas, or even without them.
Perry claims to have given the Constitution a quick scan before going all Wild On! She should have given it a closer look. The artist ends up being arrested by two police officers. Many would have paid to take her into custody.
One of the law enforcers then informs her she was wrong. In the back of the squad car, a nude Joel McHale confirms it to her.
For those who believed Katy’s story, unless the vote center is at a nudist beach, it’s 100% illegal to vote naked. If still unconvinced, read the Constitution. But make sure reading it, instead of only scanning it like Perry.
Katy Perry will vote for Hillary Clinton in the general elections
The pop singer didn’t express her political views in the comedic sketch. However, she’s Team Hillary without a doubt. Perry has also publicly endorsed the former Secretary of State for President.
Katy Perry first performed at a rally for Clinton in Iowa in October 2015. She then sang alongside Elton John at a fundraising concert for Hillary in New York City in March 2016. Perry even contributed $2,700 to Clinton’s campaign, embrace her logo, and offered to write her campaign theme song.
