Garmin announced this Thursday its new smartwatch, the Fenix Chronos. The new smartwatch comes with all the features of their standard GPS exercises watches but they come in a more elegant case than the ones everyone is used to see.

It comes with calorie tracker, step tracker, and sleep tracker. It has a better tracker for physical activities like swimming, biking, golf and other sports. Besides the movement trackers, it comes with a compass, a barometer, an omnidirectional EXO antenna with GPS and GLONASS, an altimeter and a heart rate monitor.

The Fenix Chronos can be linked to a smartphone in order to receive notifications and weather data, and download apps from the company’s Connect IQ store.

It has a Chroma 1.2-inch high-strength and scratch-resistant sapphire lens display with LED backlighting which makes it hold up against direct sunlight, and 10ATM (100m) water rating.

According to Garmin, the watch can last 25 hours in battery-saving mode, 13 hours with the GPS activated or even up to seven days in smartwatch mode, that will likely be with all the trackers turned off.

The fancy smartwatch comes in three different versions and each one of them with its own price. The one with steel casing with leather band cost $899, another one with steel casing with stainless steel band for $999 and the one of titanium casing with titanium band for $1,499.

Another option of Garmin’s smartwatches

Garmin has a couple of smartwatches in the market but one of its best is definitely the Garmin Vivosmart HR. It is not the latest smartwatch released, but people still think of it as one to buy.

It has a big touchscreen display that gives the users the chance to view more information on the tracker which means that they do not have to pull out the phone to open the Garmin app. Because of the size of the screen, it also makes it easy to read outdoors.

The Vivosmart HR has a waterproof rating or up to 50 meters, the battery can last for up to 5 days and it has an optical heart rate sensor, but it lacks the GPS tracking and automatic activity recognition.

The company later released an improved version of the Vivosmart HR, the Vivosmart HR+, which comes with the two features that the original version did not come with. The standard version has a price tag of $140 while the HR+ cost $220, on Amazon.
