Fossil Group, Inc (NASDAQ: FOSL) is expanding its already vast selection of fashionable smartwatches. The American designer unveiled two new connected wearables for its Q line, the Q Wander, and the Q Marshal.
The full-on Android watches feature the same specs, but their design different from each other. Also, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 chip runs the gadgets. Fossil’s previous ‘Q founder’ had an Intel Atom processor. The new chip marks a significant change as it uses a quarter less power than Intel’s.
The company also released four new hybrid watches named the Crewmaster, Gazer, Nate, and Tailor. These analog devices offer the same basic options such as calorie count and fitness tracking. Fossil unveiled its six new Q wearables last week at IFA 2016 in Berlin.
The Q Wander and Marshal specs
The new Q line wearables feature a 1.5 inches screen, as well as a 360 x360 resolution and 4GB of storage with 512MB of RAM. Both watches have a 45mm case and a 22mm band size. Also, the gadgets boast a 360mAh battery, providing a good daily run.
The Android Wear 2.0 system enables an always-on display to check notifications. It also offers plenty of Fossil’s watch faces for customization available at Google Play. Besides, the OS supports devices using Android 4.3 and up or iOS 8 products.
Other features of the new Q line wearables are the ability to answer calls and play music. Fossil also added a new sleep tracker to complement the previous activity tracking from the Q founder. Moreover, Their circular display has a flat-tire design just as its predecessor.
The Q Wander has a more feminine design
Fossil implemented a couple of design methods to make the Q Wander look smaller than it is. With a thickness of 13.5mm, the device is rather large when compared to other women’s watches such as the second-generation Moto 360.
However, early reviews suggested the Q Wander suits perfectly on the wrist thanks to its slimmed lugs and curved angles. The watch has a rose gold case and a tan leather strap; though users can change it for another 22 mm band of their liking.
The Q Marshal, a suitable choice for men
One constant critique of the Q Founder was the watch didn’t feel comfortable on skinny wrists. Fossil fixed this problem with the Marshal, as the case is 2mm smaller and 1mm thinner than its predecessor.
The smartwatch comes with a black case and a settings button on the side. As the Q Wander, the Marshal also lets users change straps; the demo version featured a matte black band and a second brown leather option.

i am always baffled by discriminating comments like this. first of all, what’s wrong with Nordstrom carrying etoile line? it’s a decision made by IM so you are saying IM is cheap or stptad?ultimiuely it’s consumerism, it’s not back in the ancient time that rich folks wore silk and poor people wore poor quality stuff. do we need a class system, proof of bank statement, address confirmation or certain passports to be able to purchase IM?
